(I'm the same anonymous from posting 4).

I read your postresponse and again it also makes sense. I really do think what you're doing is great. People in our society that do not experience acne do not realize how bad it really is to deal with - especially when we are bombarded with countless images of what we believe we need to look like.

Anyway i hope people get something great out of this. I enjoy just knowing that others understand.

Thanks,

Hi Eric =)

The reason I dont remove too much of my facial oil is because when I do, my skin becomes very dry. When this happens I find that my face gets irritated very easily and I sometimes get small pimples, usually only cheeks and temples. My theory is that facial oil is your body's natural moisturizer that keeps the moisture and ph levels of your skin balanced, so I don't interfere too much with it as I believe my body knows what it is doing. If I just splash a little water on my face, or if I don't remove any at all..... nothing happens! I stay clear =)

I hope this helps and if you have any other questions let me know.

why aren't you getting rid of your facial oil anymore? What happens if you do? Or if you don't?

Thanks again hope for your reply.

Hello there my fellow anonymous friend =)
Yes my acne problem started during my mid/late teens and now I am in my late 20's.

Firstly, if you have learnt to be a happy person while suffering from acne, you have already come very far. Really the reason you want to get rid of acne is to be happy, and if you have achieved happiness while still suffering from your disease you must have developed and grown alot as a person. So you should be proud of yourself for that.

How extreme do you have to be with sleep, food, exercise you ask? Well that really depends on how much you want to get clear. How much is clear skin worth to you and what are you prepared to exchange for it?

The changes I made to my old lifestyle from eating junk food, going out and getting wasted every weekend, no exercise, bad sleeping habits to -> no alcohol, no drugs, daily exercise, daily meditation & yoga, a strict clean diet etc. at the time were quite 'extreme' to me and the people around me, but I REALLY, REALLY wanted clear skin I had had enough of it, so 'un-balancing' my life and making an extreme change was my only choice.

Today, the changes which were extreme are now part of my everyday, normal life, so what is 'extreme' is really subjective and relative to where you are right now.

Lastly, never give up hope. I know how hopeless it may seem after you feel like you have tried everything under the sun to get clear but still have acne, but believe me if you keep trying you WILL eventually find the answer.

Peace and good luck, if you have any other questions please feel free to ask =)

You do make a great point, and in reading your struggle, I can only imagine you started your acne problem as a teenager, 10 to 12 years old, and if it was a 12 year problem, then i imagine you are in your early twenties. I have experienced a very similar struggle, and find this post interesting, (as well as this whole blog) but I have tried to balance those things in life, I eat quite a healthy diet and still find myself with cystic acne. When I say I have tried everything, I have tried everything. I am a happy person, and not as sad about it now as I use to be. I can only hope people look at me for me and not my acne or scars. With all that, I still wish I did not have to suffer with acne. How extreme do I have to be in these laws of sleep, food, exercise etc. It all comes down to balance, and even that, I can't seem to find enlightenment on the issue.
